Hello,

I'm the author of Young Enough to Play (University of the Philippines Press, 2022) and The Sea That Beckoned (Platypus Press, 2019). I was born in the Philippines and raised in New York. I teach Creative Writing at the Department of English and Literature at Silliman University in Dumaguete, Philippines.

Creative Writing and Editing

Language is my medium of art. I’ve published two books of poetry, and teach poetry, fiction, playwriting, and creative non-fiction in the college level. Through poetic language, I can make your creative writing endeavors come to life. Whether it’s that novel you’ve always wanted to write, or that biography that you’ve wanted to put out there, I’m happy to help.

Content Writing and Editing

Effective copy to reach the right audiences is essential to the biggest brands. I’ve worked in marketing teams as a content writer and content manager with Tomedes Ltd, and prior to that, with CommerceLabs. If you need help with marketing, ad copy, email marketing, blog copy, press releases, newsletters, and more, just contact me.

Scholarly Research Interests

Scholarly work takes time and research. My research takes a critical look at the woman writer’s experience, as well as the experience of the Philippine diaspora in migrant situations. My first book, The Sea That Beckoned was an exploration of what home and belonging meant to those who couldn't call a certain place home, who have moved so many times to have a home, and who never belonged anywhere. My second book, Young Enough to Play, investigated the plight of woman writers in the Philippines, with all the colors of their sometimes disastrous love lives, along with mythical and unnamed women. If you’re looking for someone to do extensive research, I’m here to help.
